WE’RE ON YOUR SIDE – AND WORKING FOR YOU EVERY DAY
Outsourced Accounts in Worcestershire
“As an entrepreneur myself, I know all about the highs and lows. I’ve also been lucky enough to be exposed to many different sectors – always enjoying being hands-on and solving practical business challenges. After starting out as a cost clerk for Needle Industries, I worked in the accounting function of manufacturing, engineering and retail businesses before joining the family business – a car repair garage and MOT testing station. Over seven years I managed to turn it round from a scary level of debt to making money, investing in new equipment, paying dividends and eventually leading a successful retirement sale.
Before I set up Millstone Partners in 2006 I was the group management accountant for a group of five companies working in the property sector with a combined turnover of £5 million.
Today I enjoy nothing more than liberating clients from mundane accounting chores and contributing to their business success.”
Away from the office, I am a rugby fanatic, being a season ticket holder at Worcester Warriors.
“Before joining Millstone Partners, I gained valuable experience in senior finance and management accounting roles with major organisations including National Grid, Massey Ferguson and Advanced Business Solutions (formerly OpenAccounts) – a leading accounting software and consultancy company.
With a degree in economics and experience in teaching accounting, my areas of expertise include analysing, improving and setting up accounting and finance systems, as well as Excel and Sage for management reporting.”
When I am not working, I “enjoy” running and am desperately trying to finish a 5k run in a respectable time!
“I am the eldest, though not necessarily wisest, member of the Millstone team. I have a background in the finance sections of large organisations such as Royal Mail, Midlands Electricity Board and Sandwell Council. Having been made redundant by Sandwell Council I decided to use my experience and get a formal qualification in finance. I studied AAT at Halesowen College. I passed level 4 in 2013 and became a full member of AAT . I have worked in an accountancy practice as an accounts and tax assistant and now have a multi-functional role within Millstone Partners.
In am a gadget nut and am always looking out for new technology. I also enjoy pub quizzes and watching my teenage son play cricket.”
As the newest member, starting in September 2017 along with my college apprenticeship studying level 3 AAT, my day to day jobs include the bank, reconciliation, maintaining the purchase and sales ledger and credit cards. Outside of work I enjoy rock climbing and playing miniature golf.
